The Environmental Management, Quality Management & Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (EMS/QMS/OHSAS) applies to the acceptance, storage, onsite treatment, transportation (including trans-boundary movements) and offsite disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes received from individuals and organizations in the private and public sectors of Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Region.
On the basis of these guidelines provided by the ISO, PECL now manages and monitors effectively its operations. PECL makes sure to achieve its goals and objectives when carrying out the waste management scopes as stipulated above.
Regulatory Requirements
The company meets the regulatory requirements desired by CEPA – PNG dealing with hazardous waste chemicals and other forms of industrial waste streams. PECL currently holds Level 2 – Activity Permit.
