World Class Management Facilities
To Contain Waste
Management Facilities
PECL has two waste management facility sites. One in Port Moresby and another one in Lae, Morobe Province.
Laloki Waste Management Facilities
In Port Moresby, the waste management facility is located at Laloki. It is at the foot of Mt. Lohos, along Hiritano Highway. It is about 20 minutes’ drive from the city. This facility contains:
- PECL HQ – Office Building
- Bund area for hydrocarbon waste storage (89m x 40m)
- Warehouse
- Distillation Plant
- PortaBurn Incinerator
- Area fully fenced with 2–3m firewall
- 3‑phase power supply (200KVA) Genset
Lae Waste Management Facilities
The facility in Lae is located about 3 kilometers away from Nadzab Airport. It is situated close to the main Highlands Highway. The area in Lae is fully fenced with provision of 3‑phase power supply.
By the last quarter of 2019, more required standard infrastructure development will be put into place. There are promising business prospects still under negotiation. Therefore, building the facility in Lae to ISO‑required standards is imminent.
As PECL is always maintaining and upholding standards, the Lae facility will also be built to standard Waste Management Facility requirements. Clients are reassured that facility safety standards and requirements will be developed to clients’ expectations by the end of 2019.
